Two weeks down!

Chels made great progress yesterday with her physical therapy - she stood on a scale by herself and walked a short distance.  She is just moving more freely overall although the pain is still an issue, as expected.   She is just so tough and resilient!

So happy that we are at the two week point!  Everyone here that has seen previous transplant recoveries states that Chels is doing remarkably well so we are very encouraged!

Chels has been watching some movies on and off.  Still very tired so doesnt have energy for much else with all the medical routines around here.  She is getting very little sleep, just naps here and there.

Kelly coming in for the holiday weekend so we are psyched about seeing her!  That alone should perk us all up!  Happy 4th to all!

  1. First and foremost: Praise God for Chelsea's continued progress! I couldn't be happier!

Second, Stacie, you are absolutely divine to document and keep the rest of us in touch. I have read your posts like a heartfelt documentary. You amaze me, really, you do. It cannot be easy to put all of those emotions into words, but you do it so eloquently!

Kelly, you know how highly I regard you and your friendship. I pray for you all daily! If Chelsea is ANYTHING like you (and from the sound of the posts about her independent spirit, beauty, feistiness, strength and courage...I'd say she likely is :)), then she's got EVERYTHING UNDER CONTROL! I love and respect you more than anyone I know.

Chelsea, you are A FIGHTER. Your big sis has ALWAYS revered how well you've handled pain, unfortunate events and adversity. You should see how her eyes light up when she speaks of you...your character, your grace and your humility. She makes me love you, though I barely know you. But I know if you are ANYTHING LIKE HER, OR YOUR MOM, you truly are an angel :)

Keep your chin up! Keep fighting. Keep praying. Keep being beautiful. It'll all be worth it. I look forward to getting to know you as a healthy, strong, young woman. Even as a child, you've made such a difference in the lives of those around you. I can't wait to see you at 100%!!!! You will be unstoppable...
